Common Problems and Solutions
No sound
- Check that your phone is not in silent mode. This is controlled by a slider switch on the side of the phone.
- While the app is playing, increase the volume using the rocker switch on the side of the phone. If you attempt to adjust volume when the app is not playing, ringer volume instead of playing volume will be adjusted.
- Check whether headphones are plugged in. If so, sound may be directed through the headphones.
Cannot start recording
- The iPod Touch does not have a microphone built-in. If you have an iPod Touch, check whether the external earbud microphone is plugged in. Ordinary headphones will not be sufficient - the microphone accessory must be plugged in.
- Try rebooting your iPhone/iPod. It is possible that another application has left the audio system locked.
Distortion
- Some devices resonate/vibrate when loud sounds are played through the speaker. If you are experiencing distortion, try turning down the volume during playback.
Out of Memory
- Try rebooting your iPhone/iPod touch. Sometimes after many hours of use, the working memory can become fragmented and unavailable to the recorder app.
Out of Space
- Recordings require 2 MB per minute of storage. Check whether your phone is full due to other app contents, movies, music, etc.
